Fall Color Trend: Oxblood Red

This month Bernat is celebrating the Waverly line of yarns inspired by the world renown home decor brand. Waverly yarn comes in a deep, rich palette — one with a few shades that bring to mind one of the biggest color trends for fall: oxblood (or chianti) red.

Unfortunately, I neglected to keep my oxblood Doc Martins from my teen years. No matter, though. I’m an adult with a Pinterest account! While lamenting about bygones being boot-gones, I can get my fashion fix by collecting images of some of the most beautiful garments, make-up and home accessories in the dark red, shade range.

Seeing red, yet? Yeah, me too — but in a good way! And when I’m feeling most inspired, I like to pick up my needles and hook. After all, knit and crochet give us the option of infusing bits of pop culture into our own creations. Here are a few yarn suggestions that fit the fashion trend bill.

Pick a yarn that speaks to you and a pattern that fits your style, and you’ll be ready to say, “Oh, yeah!” to oxblood red!
