I’ve already started my holiday knitting, this year’s theme is hats
gloves for my sister, a hat for my BIL, and some little things for the kids.
I have already knitted some camo cowls for son, son in law and 1 grandson. Have a baby blanket to do for a great grand daughter

I’m making my grandkids gifts-grandson is getting a crochet sweater with his favorite dinosaur crochet on it, and granddaughter is getting a crochet dress! both are getting new crochet hats too!
This year I am knitting small mitten sets to hang on your tree. I have about 40 sets to make. 2/3 of the way there already. Project always in my carry bag so when I have minute I work on them. Great way to use up bits f leftover yarn.

For several of the women in my family I’ve been making purses for. The babies are getting hat & blanket sets, and the football fans are getting hats, blankets, and scarves. My son has a list a mile long of things he wants me to make him.

I am an avid crocheter and have taught my daughter. Starting in October we are taking knitting classes. She’s a leftie and I am right handed, we are excited to see which one of us learns the quickest. Our gifts this year are booties! I’m making Halloween decorations; also started crocheting my Christmas gifts; almost done with an afghan but also have a shawl,some scarves and a sweater on my to do list.
I do alot of knitting and plan to make scarves, afghans and several other things for the holidays. I have always knit but had to teach myself a way to do it again holding one needle under my leg. In 2005 I was shot by my ex husband and lost my entire right arm. Im happy to say I can knit as well as I did before.
Maxine, that is amazing. I am sorry you went through such a traumatic experience, but am happy that you are doing so well. I truly believe yarns and yarn crafts help with any stressful situations. It can really change the way a person feels. Hope your holidays are joyful. God bless you.

I am finishing up socks for my Mom this weekend, then I’m excited about an entrelac hat pattern I found, which I will be trying to make with softee chunky (yes, I will have to adjust it for size, since the pattern is supposed to be made with sock yarn!), and a friend of mine is sending me a grab-box assortment of yarn for my knitting and crocheting pleasures. I’m super-stoked about that!

At least my daughter in law said she would love if I made assorted flower squares and she could put the afghan together herself, She said it would be getting a gift and a craft project at the same time. I have so many nieces and nephews, I have to make a list in spring so that I get everyone covered for Christmas gifts. I’m about half done, and it ranges from hats and mitts to sweaters to stuffed dinosaurs!
I always whip up a few crochet hats and knit a few scarves…hats for my sisters (I have 3), and sister-in-laws (I have 2) and scarves for my mother & mother-in-law…the men in my life do not tend to appreciate my handiwork as much as the women do…

But there is a santa hat set planned for my sister’s family, a soft, sparkly sweater for my mom, scarves for two of my best friends one of whom just moved up north and obviously needs cold weather wardrobe additions, and I would really like to find something my dad would enjoy, but he is difficult
I am planning on making some texting gloves for my best friend– only the thumbs flip open!

I have already begun on Christmas gifts. Scarves never get old, but to spice things up a bit, I’m going to be making hooded scarves for friends and family. I will mostly be knitting, but there’s a few interesting crochet patterns I’ve come across that would make an interesting hooded scarf. Depending on how things go, I just might make matching arm warmers.
I’ve started making tea towel and dishcloth gift sets. Some are knit and some are crochet. Each person or family gets a set to match their kitchen.

This year it’s socks for my friends, and silly hats for my young adult children. My daughter is going to freak when she gets a unicorn hat!
I am crocheting most of my Christmas gifts. I have 2 great-nephews, ages 2 and 7, and 1 great-niece age 8. I have made two afghans for them so far, and have one more to go. One was an elongated dc stitch, which I think looks like icicles, a granny square for the girl, and I still have a Spiderman afghan yet to do. I’ve also made small crocheted knights, four different colored uniforms, with matching shields. I have 24 made so far. Am hoping to do ten of each by Christmas. I also hope to design a castle for each color too, with flags in the same colors as the knights uniforms. Have made a red cardinal Angry Bird amigurumi, and winter hat for the 7 yr. old. Am half way finished a topaz crocheted evening shawl, need two more days to finish. Hope to make a beautiful crocheted purse in bright bold colors with bead embellishment. If time allows, I would like to do several more amigurumis, two owls, and one other. Not sure if it will be a dragon or a hedgehog. Also if time, more Angry Birds, one for each nephew and niece, maybe brother too. I wanted to make a cowl for my niece, and a sweater for my nephews wife, but don’t think I’ll have time, but who knows, maybe. Trouble is I have a few amigurumi projects to make for paying clients too. Whew, when I list it all out, it makes me nervous. I love the Bernat Satin for my afghans. I would like to make something with the Soft and Chunky too. Am having a great time making my handmade gifts. Hope others are too.

I have already started my holiday gifts by knitting several scarves. I love the new Softee Chunky yarn and just started crocheting the Quickee slippers for my sisters. My grandmother used to make us slippers every year to open on Christmas Eve. So I am hoping they will like them.
