I love using white:chocolate & either pink or blue!
I love to crochet. I make sweater sets and blankets for all my friends and they love it.
I love using the gentle “baby” tones for making baby blankets, but I am starting to warm up to some of the brighter colours.
for babies I like brighter colors like purple and hot pink or bright green and teal
I like Bernat baby yarn, because it is soft just like a baby. It is easy to work with and can make beautiful things with it.
Love bright colors for baby clothes and toys. Thanks for the contest!
I like using teal and for little girls. I feel like girls get so much pink which is sweet but a change is nice. I also like pairing yellow with white to make a warm buttery type color for blankets. I like the tradtional pastels but also more modern… I just like all colors
I love all blues and greens, lighter shades for the summer, richer shades for the winter
Love the new baby color schemes. The possibilities are endless. I am always making baby things. Bernat has the best options for new baby items. thanks!
Love baby softee all colours-wishing there was a black-
Would love to see some darker colors, solids and mixes especially for boys.
Depends on the parents. Sometimes I use traditional baby pink/blue white or cream. But often I will do more modern colours. I especially love vintage patterns in modern hues.
I have been using alot of peach and peach yellow combinations, its a great “other” color for a girl. For the boys I’m using a color combination of yellow and green. love bernat yarn I’ve never been dissapointed with the yarn quality.
I love using gender neutrals for newborns, like browns reds oranges and bright blues.
I like BRIGHT colors when knitting for babies! I like to make blankets in different squares, and knit in the babie’s name in one square. I also do sweaters, hats, and booties.
I love to use brights for baby projects! Pastels are cute, but even then I’ll pair them with a dark colour like grey or brown to change it up a bit.
I love lavendar and yellow for baby projects
My favorite hues are whatever I happen to be looking at right then and there…I love them all.
I love making baby stuff in greens and browns.
And I love the Bernat Softee Baby. Sometimes it’s hard to find.
Like soft coral and mint and lavendar!! Would love to make sweater for my granddaughter who is about a year and half old and see a floral pattern swirly skirt in the same colors!
I love baby yarn, so soft and such pretty colours. I like pale greens and yellows but I also like the varigateds too!
What a great giveaway! Thanks for that!
My favorite hues for baby pieces are – mint, mango and aqua.
I like to knit baby items in hues of green or aqua.
If I don’t know girl/boy, I like mint green, lemon yellow, white and lavender.
I would love to see baby yarns in the current fahion colors, just like other yarns. You’re never too young to be in style!
I like Baby Ombres in Lavender and Blues, Pink and Lavender. cocoa, green and white is nice too!
I LOVE baby blue, brown and white for boys!! Making a blankie for my grandson now!!
I love all the softee baby colors, but the pinks are my favorite since I have a granddaughter and another granddaughter on the way!!
I love brights for babies… knit or crochet items, i do both!
I love the lemon yellow and soft red!
Of the colors that are typically offered in baby yarn, I use green, yellow, peach, and white most often.
I’d love to see some diversity in colors offered, though. I’m kind of tired of the selection, and I’d like to make things that fit the families I’m making them for rather than be pigeonholed into a limited number of colors.
My favorite baby colors are the variegated colors…just love making baby blankets with them. Would be nice to see some baby colors not in the pastel range also!
I love any soft color for a baby! Especially blues and greens.
I like a range of colors not just pastels. Its hard to find a baby yarn thats not pastel.
I love bright colors. Teals, Pinks, Bright blue!
Mint greens and yellows! Gender neutral
I love the variegated yarns. Depending on the project, you get so many different colour blocks from them!
i usually make over-sized baby blankets (not clothing) and tend to tailor the colors to the personalities of the family and new baby. if they are hip young at heart parents i might go with a new trendy color or if they are more traditional i might stick to the more customary blue, greens, pinks and yellows of baby land
I like to use less of the pastel baby colors and more of the strong colors – Navy for a boy is a nice change. A deep rose for a girl!
I like dark blue for boys and purple for girls.
I love colors that are bright & cheerful, but if I know Mom has a favorite color or color combo, I try to go with that. Mom will be looking at whatever I make, so I like to be sure she’ll like it, too!
I like to use bright colors when I make baby blankets!
Love, love , love working with pinks and blues!!!
Generally, for preemie/charity knitting, white or pastels (not yellow or green) are preferred by hospitals. But for babies in general, I love knitting with bright jewel colors that will catch their eyes and help them focus. Black, white, red — and other bright colors — are terrific developmental colors that will stay with the baby for years. I always hope to hear that the toddler is still using the blanket I knit for her/him and pastels don’t attract toddlers and older children.
I love the Tiny Tulips. Knits up beautifully. Also love making “pink, white, and blue” combos when I don’t know whether the newborn will be male or female! Win-win!!
I love lavenders, greens, blues, yellows, pastels & bright colors. It really depends on who I’m making it for & if the gift is for a boy or a girl.
I love pink and blue
I like a nice soft baby pink in combination with something else like a bright spring green, a cloud-like cream, or a heathered purple; colors that remind me of spring, Easter, or flowers, at least for a baby girl project. For baby boys I prefer something earthy (a dusty brown or hunter green) with a nice navy and a lovely cream; colors that make me think of smokey libraries and Oxford tweeds.
I like using either green, blue or pink for most baby projects. But I’m really liking the pyjama party color in the Softee Baby yarn!!
I love chocolate brown – blue combination
I love using brighter colors, and greens, yellows, purples, reds, oranges, not just traditional pastels, and pink and blue! =)
Lately, I’ve used grey & pink for girls and tan & green for boys. The traditional pastels arena bit boring.
Red! It’s fun, it’s bright, and totally works for either gender depending on embellishments. Baby gifts from me tend to be red, navy, or brown. They go with more things, and I customize with buttons or embroidered/crocheted flowers on to knits. I don’t see a ton of grown ups wearing pastels, babies shouldn’t have to either!
I used to do the pastels, but ever since I had my daughter, I’ve been obsessing with doing brights! I really love bright pink/green combo. I couldn’t find any baby swimsuits in her tiny size (0-3 mths is even cutting it close) so I designed one in these colors, using a watermelon theme! Way too cute! I also crocheted barefoot sandals and a super adorable watermelon sun hat to go with it!
I like to be able to use colors that will go with the baby’s room. Right now I have one blanket started with the new Princess Pebbles and love the way it works and looks.
I used the multi pictured on the bottom of your pic up top for my grandaughter’s ‘blankie’ and it turned out beautiful…She loves snuggling up to it!
I like to use gender neutral colors for baby items so I can make gifts in advance and not worry if the recipient is having a boy or girl…either way it will match! Skeins with multiple colors are perfect for this!
I tend to use non-traditional colors for baby items (unless the parents are really into pastels). I like self-striping yarns for sweaters — makes a simple sweater look so much better in my opinion. I’ve used brown tweeds for boys — masculine, yet looks like a little jacket.
I like using light brown, greens, whites, and reds; colors that aren’t too gender-specific and can be used when another baby comes along!
I like to use a lot of different colors. It depends on the parents and the baby. Everyone has a different style and personality. I think the color should reflect those differences.
I just finished a baby blanket for my own little girl using summer ombre from softee baby and three complementary colors (green pink and yellow) with a white border. It came out really pretty and I love that it isnt pastels!
I love all the colours..
love the softness and all the colours
I love pink, blue, white, green… the list could go on and on! I love BERNAT yarn!
soft blue…
Depends on the project. If it is hats or mittens I love using pastel ombre colors. If it is blankets or sweaters I usually go with a mint green if we do not know if it is a boy or girl. If we know, I use a mixture of pastel and brights for everything I make. Especially brights for teddy bears or other stuffed animals!
i like brighter colors, pastels seem old fashioned to me…
I love variegated colors best – especially green/white when they’re really bright. I seem to prefer ‘non-gendered’ colors when making items for babies & young ones.
I love yellows! Prefer brighter shades. My second favourite would be sea foam green and plane old white.
Love to use anything bright and colorful for baby blankies… Softee Baby is my go-to baby yarn because there are so many fun colors. I usually choose a varigated shade and the corresponding solids.
Love the rich colors for babies and the softness of the cottons. I also love using these yarns for slipper socks and beanies for adults!
Love lavender for baby girls but also lots of brights for both boys and girls.
I usually use delicate, soft pastels for baby items; but I do love to make toys and hats in wild, bright colors!
I love Baby Sport yarn in baby green and baby pink!
Since I’m crocheting alot for my grandaughter who is due to arrive in December, my fave hues are peach, tourquoise, yellow and pink! Would love to try this yarn out!
I like neutrals with one bright hue!
Mint green and yellows. Love all the soft colors though!
I love the bright yarn like lime green but also the peachy orange too. My favorite is the multi-color yarn for baby hats, booties & blankets. They make such pretty & interesting patterns on smaller items.
I like denim with pastel or bright colored self patterning yarn for a funky look for a girl baby.
And for a boy, denim and primary colored self patterning yarn.
I’m going to be a great grandmother in January, so I would have a lot of use for some yarn. Thanks for having the giveaway!
I tend to go towards brighter colors. I don’t care for the pastels too much. I really like non traditional baby colors.
Love both, I guess it depends on the project and the parents or child I am making something for on which I’ll use. Definitely would love to see some more colors. I also do both, knit and crochet, but I do more with crochet (still want to become more proficient in knitting).
Blues and greens are my particular favorites, but my granddaughter loves both the pink and the lavender shades!
For boys i love brown and blue…for girls pink and brown
My fave Baby projects would be Baby Blankets, Sweaters and Beanies (oh yes I’ve made a lot of Beanies ;p). Pastel colours are my favorite for Sweaters and Beanies (of course they’ll come out in set) specially in Green, Purple, and Peach hues. However, I prefer crocheting the Blankies in brights
I love the soft lilac and soft red.
I usually pick pink and white, but love all pastels.
Green and white are always safe for either gender, but personally I really like Softee Baby Spring and Summer Ombre!
My favorites are the bright colors like Mango and Aqua. I also like the ombres. I wish there were more of the brighter colors and some dark colors, such as, as red or black.
I love brights like Pyjama Party, or pairings like soft fern and mango!
I like aqua or mint and white for babies. I also like crayon colors, and once made a baby afghan in camouflage and black for my nephew.
I love all the colors, but would love to see black available- I am not partial to any specific color for babies, but lately I’m using a lot of peach, pink, and purple.
I love to crochet in bright colors for baby gifts.
Lavender and soft pinks, I have all boys so I love the girly colors!
I love anything in jewel tones. Anything that is vivid and dramatic that flatters anyone and catches the eyes of others.
I love Bright Vivid colors! Reds, Blues, Oranges, Greens…
I love crocheting traditional/vintage patterns in modern bright colour pallets.
I like to stick with pastel shades. Babies are soft, and innocent, and look very sweet in pastels. Peach, blue, pink, green, and yellow, all look nice, in softer shades, on a baby.
I like to use browns & tans with either blue, pink or green. Wish that there were more choices in colors for baby yarns.
I love blues – for either boys or girls
This is all I use making baby clothes. I actually found a grey and white verigated and then found a solid grey in Baby Softee and what an attractive boys outfit it made. Like to see so many untraditional shades appear on the market
I love pastels but I don’t like to just make pink and blue. My favorites are orange or green for boys and lilac or yellow for girls.
Recently,I have been knitting with jewel tones. I still love pastels and earth tones for babies but the jewel tones are such a surprise for new Moms!
Peach, green and pink. Love them !
I would rather knit with bright colors like Pyjama party or Candy Baby. There is a place for the traditional pastels, however. It depends what the occasion is that the garment is made for.
I love mixing solids and variegated colors! With 5 grandchildren (3 girls & 2 boys) there is always something needed!
If you ever notice – the brighter the colors the more alert and happier the baby is. If you put a pastel and a bright in front of them , they will always reach for the bright ones. I don’t care for pastels for myself except for certain occasions, very few.
I love non-traditional baby colors. Those bright eye catching colors make me so happy. Love pairing colors that you wouldn’t normally!
I can look at it and feel how soft the yarn is already, makes me want the winter so I can snuggle my son under a, some fall colors, like orange, red, brown/tan and green.
I usually work with whatever colour the family has already chosen, but look for bright and high-contrast variegated yarns. Baby eyes aren’t able to distinguish pastel shades as well, and I’d like there to be some visual interest for them, not just their parents
I like the bright colors for making a baby blanket.
I like to use the bright colors when making baby items. I think it makes the gift even more unique by not using the normal/expected pastel colors.
I like the pastels and the varigated
Brights are always nice
I love the bright colors best, but have found that most requests for baby garments have been for the traditional blues and pinks. I like to mix the solid colors with varigated colors in baby sweaters and hats.
Love the peaches and the orange tones..
I love to use a variegated pastel unless I know the sex or the mother-to-be has a specific color scheme.
I love the bright colours they are great for babies and adults alike just because it says baby on the band it does not mean it is just not for babies some adults and older children like the softness feel on their skin too
I am very partial to lavenders and peaches and yellows….that way, you are covering both bases.
I like to use creams and browns.
I love anything variegated and bright!
All pastel colors, especially yellow and mint green.
I like making baby outfits in bright colours, especially bright pinks and blues. If I know that the parents prefer pastels, then I will use pastels.
My favorite hues depend on what I am making and for whom I am making it for. I like most colors.
i love all of the variegated colors!!
Bright clear colors! It’s fun to combine contrasting colors like yellow and purple or blue and orange!
I have been leaning towards brighter hues for baby projects lately.
I love using bright colors for babies and usually use a pattern that has several colors and some type of texture so they can grab on & feel something! For some reason the moms feel like they should put away the pastel items & save them for “good” but feel like it’s okay to use the bright colored items.
I love knitting baby items. I especially like to use different shades of pinks and purples for girls and blue and aqua colors for boys. I love Bernat yard. It’s soft and stays beautiful after wear and washes.
I really love the brights. But I like the pastels too.
Love the new Prince and Princes Pebbles along with the Flannel colors!
I’ve used this time and time again for different projects. I especially love to make clothing for my little girl because this yarn is so easy care. I’ve also used this as an accent color to the clothes I’ve crochet for my aunts.
Thanks bunches Bernat
My favourites are the bright bold colours and those that are un-traditional for a baby.
I love bright colours! In fact, I totally hate traditional baby pastels…
I like using blues, purples and greens. And yellows. And, well, all colors!!
I use lavender and yellow when making baby projects for my sorority sisters, but mostly I try to match the nursery colors. Working an aqua & yellow blanket for our first baby now because gender will be a surprise!
I LoVe creating things for newborns! I enjoy using the “traditional” colors as well as the bold choices some parents requests. One of my favorites, however, stands out for a simple reason. I was asked to use lavender, violet and soft plum in a variety of styles and items. The young couple had learned that they were expecting a daughter, whom they had decided to name… you quessed it… Violet Sue. Named in honor of a G3 grandmother. I thought it was delightful as well as unique.
I love the Candy Baby one as well as the Pipsqueak with lime green and blue.
I love the pastels for bordering fleece blankets and the brighter ones for hats sometimes with a little multi color for good measure. keep the new colors coming!
I love the traditional colors, pink, blue and yellow and green. It’s just how I roll.
I love yellows and whites also the varigated colors in baby yarn.
I like the multicolors. And the gender specific ones, and the gender neutral ones, gosh I like them all!
I love the brighter colors. And the people I give them to love them too!
Currently, I am working in blue and green hues, but I prefer the lavendar, for ongoing projects. It’s so versatile and any patterns I find will be done with Bernat yarn because it’s so affordable.
Jo
I love the pastel shades!!!! Your yarn is so soft and perfect for baby toys!
I love all the colors but have recently gone with greens and peach type colors. Really depends on who I’m making something for. There is always a color in this line that will work.
I love both traditional and nontraditional colors for babies. It depends on the parent’s preference.
I just found this yarn in the store and its so pretty and soft, I use it to make newborn hats and booties to send down to a group in W.V and they give them out to families in need.
I love the non traditional colors! Babies need bright colors too! Plus I like to use softee baby for garments for adults too! Much softer and affordable if you’re on a budget!
I have to say both. Honestly, I like to crochet and knit up baby and kids’ projects with lots of colors, no matter if they are solid or variegated. Babies and kids like to see and touch colors.
I love using bright colors especially your soft red! I also have a huge soft spot for the pale pink.
I love yellows but I also love the bright.bold colors.
I really like to knit with yellows, oranges and greens..
I would like red/green for Christmas wear. Also black and to bring back the orange for halloween. I also find Bernat Baby Softee is becoming less available at Walmart and even at Michaels. I have several knitters who knit with this yarn for our hospital gift shop and these knitters are finding it difficult at times too.
I love using the traditional baby colors. But I also love the tan/blue/brown combo and the tan/pink/brown combos. The light gray is growing on me, especially combined with pink or blue. Can you tell I’m easy to please?
I love the Tiny Tulips yarn, makes up beautifully.
WHITE, because I like to make mostly heirloom’s for keepsake purposes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bernat baby soft, in fact I am working with it now making an Angel blanket!!!
Soft earth tones. Especially for when you don’t know if baby is a boy or girl.
I love using plain colors when I’m doing something with a pattern (so the pattern stands out), and the variegated colors when I’m doing straight garter or stockinette stitches.
I like bright and/or deep colors. Like flame colors and jewel tones.
I love all the colors. I am especially looking for a reason to use the peach orange color.
I love the Baby Jacquards in all color combos, they are so much fun to work up. After that yellow is my favorite.
I love soft pinks and dark browns. But it all depends. Lately its been soft pink because I’m expecting a beautiful baby girl!!!
Prince Pebbles, Pajama Party, Flannel
I like the blankets I make to be used often, not put away and kept for only special times. I find that something like Flannel with a little color on the edge (according to what the Mom likes) is a great way to go.
Soft lilac and peach!
I tend to buy mint green, yellow, pink and blue.
I like pastel, gender neutral colors like mint green, peach, and light yellow.
I like to pair chocolate brown with either pink for girls or green for boys!
We have had 3 baby girls in the family this year, so I have been using a lot of shades of pink mixed with green. Cheery girly spring like colors!!!
If I get to choose the colors I go with the more traditional pastels. For toddlers I like a bit brighter colors.
I love on traditional bright or darkish muted colors. The dark pink above for instance is much better than pastel pink in my opinion. Also love the blues and greens in the sweater pictured in the pattern book! I will definitely be looking for some baby softer yarn now! Thanks bernat.
I like medium shades for newborn outfits. I just finished a bunting in lime green. I only use pinks when I know I’m making something specifically for a girl and then maybe not. Colors are so much fun.
I just made the cutes hat and bib set in bright orange, royal blue and white! It was a great summer color set. Love the Bernat cotton yarns for summer and would love to see some of those bright colors in the regular acrylic baby yarns…
I love ALL the Baby Jacquards . . . hope I spelled it correctly. The colors look like sherbert . . smooth and cool.
I like to use the bright colours for all baby items. But sometimes someone else will pick the colours, that’s what happens when you have the time and wish/need to knit
I LOVE the brighter colours of Softee Baby . . . the pinkish red/turquoise and soft green look a-MAZ-ing together . . .
I love to use bright colors. None of that pastel stuff for the babies I dress. Hot pink, bright violet, sunny yellow and grass green are my favs!
I love peaches and pinks. Very earthy, warm colors that remind me of sunsets or New Mexico. Yellows, umbers like sunflowers and deserts. I really love them all, but this is what came first to mind.
I personally love all the colours but prefer white on new babes then graduate to colours after a couple of months. Consideration to the “parents” prefere
nce is always a plus.
I love your yarn and I use quite a bit of it making “baby things” for my business, “Carolyn’s Huggable Threads.”
Love knitting in the varigated colours for babies and pinks and purples for little girls.
My favorite colors are the traditional pastel blue and pink, but depending on the parents, I sometimes use less traditional, more bright colors. Bernat Softee Baby is my favorite baby yarn to use
I like pink or blue depending on gender, traditionalist
I prefer pastels for babies. Love Bernat Baby yarn!
I like some of the newer color combinations you’ve been doing. I did a sweet baby blanket with “tulips” and the border in white. I really liked the way it turned out. Love working with this yarn, so soft.
I like purple and turquoise!
I like to use bright non-traditional colors for baby items. Reds, Aquas, Dark Blues, Lime Green, Orange, and Brown are ones I go for. I tend to stear clear of Pastels.
i love teals an pinks!
Love Baby Jacquards in any color… Why are you discontinuing it??
I love all shades of white and trim it in the babies gender
I try to use colors that will complement the baby’s room. Combining variegated with solids in such a way as make the pattern stand out.
love pinks for my new grandaughter
I do love the look of pastels for newborns, but I find myself knitting in the bolder deeper tones. It is always nice to be able to find those in baby yarn.
I like pink and purple for the girlies and blue, yellow and white for the little boys.
I like Aqua, Fresh Green and Soft Fern together!
I love anything with white – and lots of colour is great!
I love the Candy color. I crochet baby blankets all the time. Bernat yarn is my favorite.
I will be a first time grandma in Dec – these colors are wonderful and I know my granddaughter will love them too.
teal is my fave baby color now. i’ve a new little dggs to make for and i’m loving it.
Love the soft gray flannel and the greens and blues for baby boys or pair it with lavender or pinks for girls!
I like pastel colours for babies’ matinee coats, etc but like bright colours for blankets and jackets.
I usually make baby clothes that are yellow or green, unless I know a color that the parents really like. I try to keep it neutral so that they can use it on multiple kids
I prefer anything that’s NOT a “traditional baby pastel” such as your Fresh Green or Soft Red. Something bright.
I love to use green and yellow for baby items and blankies unless the parents want traditional colors.
Linda
I love coral, lilac, aqua, and lemon for babies. I like using more saturated colors instead of pastels.
I like the pastels, mostly the yellow and greens for gender neutral, so I can start early incase it takes me a while.
I like blues and neutral colors. I also wish baby yarns came in darker colors like black and grey.
Greatest baby colors ever! Last year I made a blanket using this yarn and it turned out absolutely beautiful. So soft and cuddly!
I find myself drawn to non traditional hues like purple, soft orange and green, both for boys and girls.
I’m not entering the contest, of course.
Just wanted to mention that I would love to have primary colors available in the Softee Baby line. They are great for making baby clothes happy and bright.
Adore periwinkle, lavender, pinks, pale greens, yellows and blues for young baby items. However would like to see brights and soft warm fall colors in the baby yarns – more color variety in general.
I love the varigated pastels, especially if I don’t know the sex of the baby… or I use yellow or pale green…there’s something for everyone, and Bernat Softee Baby is a wonderful weight to work with!
just done a baby blanket in pink and white and another in raspberry and cream,,,,but would love to try something more vibrant and adventurous out of that book !! something that turns out the right size with no mistakes and doesnt look like something from the 70′s! the corals and greens look lovely together would love to try that :O0
I love sage green and dark purple for baby girls and sage green with dark brown for boys.
I love a soft mint or sage green. Great for either boy or girl.
I prefer white or pastel green for baby blankets. White is the universal color of purity. Green is just my favorite color. I try to keep a couple of blankets made up in advance so that I don’t have to rush through whatever other project I am working on to make a baby blanket for someone expecting a new bundle of joy. And with white or green, you don’t worry whether it’s a girl or a boy!!
Bright, primary colors matched with a neutral like cream are my favorite!
Green, tan and brown for neutral colors. Lately I know a lot of girls not wanting to know what their baby is before it’s born, and this is the way to go. Teals and blues is also a good way to go even for girls.
I LOVE the dark pinky-red. It is such a full, vibrant colour.
I like the more modern, brighter colors. Babies need more color stimulation than the pastels offer. LOVE Baby Softee.
I ususally always go neutral with an oatmeal, or beige. It seems to be the only colours that the parents want. I always love a rich colour for a baby, but no one takes the chance anymore.
What colors do I like? I am drawn to pastels. They just scream sweetness and nice. But sadly, I don’t use pastels very often.
What colors do I like like? I’m often designing and crocheting toys and hats with saturated colors. My style is realistic. Many things in nature (zoo animals, flowers) are rich in color so I favor the more vibrant hues.
My sister recently had a baby and decided on a jungle theme. She crocheted an 8 foot palm tree and used browns, tans and greens. I crocheted monkey inspired elements (hats, booties, mitts, bib, softee) in browns and greens as well.
I knit many preemie blankets and hats so I tend to use “seasonal” colors like pastels for spring, brights for summer like turquoise and lime green, and for fall I do pumpkin orange, apple red and soft tans. I like the new brights for babies!
Wow,this is amazing giveaway, patterns and the yarn!Hope to win, thanks for the chance.I prefer brighter and pastel colors.Don’t like black or any dark color.
A soft buttery vanilla colour – perfect for a boy or a girl!
I love the bernat baby soft yarns… typically i’ve used the pink and blue rule only because thats what’s mostly requested…but i’m definitely not afraid to try new color schemes. i love the varigated. I just like whatever is unique and catches the eye.
I love to use bright, cheery colors for baby items.
Since having my first baby 15 weeks ago I’ve found that I really like the brighter fun colors!
I love all the Bernat baby yarns. If it’s a girl, I try to do something in the pinks or purples, a boy – something green or blue. But if the gender is not yet know, I love the prints! I especially love the baby jacquards — I crochet caps for the newborns and donate them to my local hospital! One skein gives me 6 – 8 caps for preemies or newborns!
I love bright colors for babies, so ‘Candy Baby’ is my favorite
I LOVE to work with the Blue’s and white. I also tend to gravitate towards pinks and yellows.
I like using brighter colors for babies. They are so much more fun to work with.
I like to use anything but pink and blue! Right now my go to colors are turquoise and coral. I love the selection of colors for softee, especially the variegated.
Love all the colors and the Bernat yarns. I especially like the jacquards. I like to knit baby outfits and blankets in the less traditional colors. Love the bright colors.
I love the prince pebbles colorway. A friend of mine is doing her nursery in these colors for her little prince.
My new favorite is bright Caribbean colors with bright corral, yellows and blues. Solid or variegated I think they make a really fun change to baby and children’s clothing.
I like to use brights and “non-traditional baby” colors, especially for blankets.
Soft colors with some neutrals thrown in; brown, tan, grey.
For the girls I like to stay with pretty pastels, but have ventured out with bright primary colors as well as blacks and dark browns for the boys.
I love making my baby items in “loud” colors. The deeper the color the better!
I love using Pinks and Purples for girls and Blues and Greens for boys!
I love to use pastel colors for newborn projects and preemie hats and mitts. For my toddler projects I use bright colors and mix and match to be creative.
For blankets I use natural colors that match the outdoors.
More recently, I have been making quite a few celtic projects incorporating designs in sweaters from Ireland. For these I have been using Aran.
Love those shades of green! I also like that there’s a grey in a nice soft baby yarn; it’s a nice change from the same old blues and pinks.
A nice, creamy yellow – on the brighter side.
It is too hard to pick one or two colors but I really like to work with lots of colors for my baby blankets!
I always incorporate pink when crocheting for my daughter. Bright colors for accessories, and soft hues for blankets.
It really depends on the project. I have a lacy Bernat pattern that I have used for years that looks better when done in pastels. I have another car seat blanket I am currently making that is done in very bright stripes.
I love to use brighter shades with a cream edging. A nice blue sweater with a cream edge can be so sweet! A pretty sunshine yellow too. By far my favorite are variegated colors with a complimentary color for the edging. Those are the best
I absolutle love using the baby blanket yarn in purple/lime green… such great colors!!
I’m a “brights” girl:) Soooo glad that they are available:)
Baby Pink Marl knits up beautifully for a sweater – other colors make great afghans.
LOVE browns with turquoise colors for my boys!
I prefer to use nature colors- colors that remind me of the ocean, the jungle, seasons… ocean blues- just make me smile!
This is beautiful yarn and I have yet to have a good project for it though I have a lil bit on hand just in case something comes up!
It depends on the gender. Then i deside on the pattern, then the colors i will use. I also like to ask the parents what the theme of the room will be. Then i can use colors that fit the room.
I love more muted tones…..For a girl I love the soft lilac & mint. For little boys, I love your Prince Pebbles.
Now there are so many pretty color combinations . It depends on the time of yr. So I guess the pastels in yellow and green if we don’t know and blue and pink if we do trimmed in white. Then if its fall I go with the mixed darker ones. Some of my friends are really going for the darker colors now . But they are all good love that yarn .
I like to use the soft greens, yellows and lavender. This way I know I will always have the right color for either a boy or girl.
Bold colors i love using them my baby girl loves hot pink my daughter love purple n my boys like the bright green n blue with black
I think it depends on my mood and what I know of the parents-to-be and what their style is. I shy away from traditional colors and go for brighter or variegated yarns. Bottom line, though, is soft!
I love the bright colours available now, especially the varigated and jacquards. So do my grandbabie. No more pastels for this knitting gramma.
I love pinks and dark brown for baby girls and greens and light brown for baby boys
I like to use white and the varigated colors. That way it works for a boy or girl whenI crochet baby blankets.
I love using more natural shades like raspberries and chocolates.
I’m currently working on a baby blanket for a friend who is expecting a boy, and of course, I’m using Bernat Softee Baby! I love this yarn
I tend to stick with the classic pink or blue. For my current project, I’m using the Baby Denim Marl.
I’m a fan of the blues and greens, to me they suit every baby.
I love the colors that work with my cute animal ear hats best. Brown black grey and white. If I’m making a baby elf hat then I love bright pinks greens blues and purples!!!
I really like using white and turquoise/aqua. Soft, neutral colors that can be used for both girls and boys.
I like using neutrals and rustic tones for my baby items. However, I believe it’s time to give pastels a try.
For boys, earth tones: browns, tans, and greens.
For girls, soft pinks, blues and purples.
I love the pastel blues and yellows!
I love the colors in Candy Baby so bright and cheerful what baby wouldn’t love these colors.
I prefer to work with the bolder tones, but for newborns I like the softer tones.
So many colors…so many projects. i love them all!
I love to use pastels most of the time, but now I’m using primary colors for Christmas and the gifts I’m making at this time. Love Bernat Softee.
I love to do my baby things in pink, blue, white – all traditional baby item colors with Softee Baby, of course. I do bibs in cotton though and would love to have a baby varigated cotton with all the baby pastels in in: pink, blue, yellow , green, white, etc. Usually the varigated cottons exclude either the pink or blue.
My favorite baby colors are the variegated colors…just love making baby blankets with them. Would be nice to see some baby colors not in the pastel range also!
For boys I love a dusty blue and green combo and for girls I like soft pink and yellow combinations….all very soft and huggable.
Spice it up Baby!
I love the darker soft colors – chocolate, coral, apple green ….
I love using bright colors. If I am donating the item, I try to make it generic (either use for girl or boy) and bright, cheerful.
If I’m making it as a gift, I try to find the color choice of the Mom-to-be.
Either way, it will be enjoyed.
I love all of the colors offered for this yarn. Since i have three girls i prefer the lavender and the pink.
I love pastel
Love to use teals, lavender, whites, some pastels, blues, greens. Some non-traditional colors too like purples, corals, hot pinks, even neon colors if available in soft baby yarns…
I love using bright colors for babies. Although, my next baby blanket I have plan is going to be simple – gray and white.
I’d like to make something with the baby Ombres.
Just finished 2 baby shell afghans, one with grey marl and the other with sweet ‘n sunny. They both looked beautiful. The next one will be using prince pebbles.
I like the soft baby colors but also the brighter colors. I love the variegated combinations that are available, especially Tiny Tulips or the His Jeans Ombre.
Cheri
I like using green, yellow, aqua and melon.
I love doing baby projects in bright colors! Most baby yarns only come in pastels, but I love apple green and hot pink and tangerine! Vibrant colors!
I love all the colors, but especially the “non-traditional” ones! I love the feel too!
I go with a pleasing combo geared to the parents’ natural hair colors–hopefully, it will compliment the baby’s hair and eyes, as well.
I love classic colors, blue, pink, green/yellow and white. Why change a beautiful tradition!
I’ve spent the last 10 months making baby blankets for various friends, almost exclusively from Bernat Softee Baby. Now, I’m pregnant myself, and ready to start my own projects!
I have a new grandbaby on the way and I’d love to make him/her something with this beautiful yarn!
Love the bright green, lilacs and aqua!
I love using primary colors for bbies. Reds, yellows, blues. Just seems cheerful and bright to me!
I like pastels for girls or brights for boys
I love matching the color or theme of the nursery or even matching the personality of the parents! Not very specific is it?
I love brights for baby’s, particularly greens oranges and yellows
x
With 2 grandchildren on the way that would sure come in handy!
I like pastel greens, yellows, and purples. But when I make something for myself I love bright colors!
lavendar ,pink blue and coral!
This season I worked mostly with yellow and orange as accent and beige, light grey. They come together well for both girls and boys with a bit of retro twist.
baby, baby, baby , baby,,,,,,enough said
Anything pastel
I always love pink and blue, but yellow and green are also nice.
I do love this yarn. I wish there were a few more solid colours to choose from. maybe a orange, yellow and a kelly green… I like the bright colours and this yarn makes great baby sweaters!
How wonderful to see such a great product as a give-awa!
I like colors that are deemed untraditional for baby item. But, for boys I still like the dark colors.
I really like the coral-y shades for my granddaughter and greens for her cousin. They look so cute together
I Love this yarn … I’m currently making “cupcake” hats for preemies!!
I love the Baby Boucle! The fantastic mixture of colors add a beautiful color to my projects.
I like gender neutrals because to many times. They are wrong about the sex of the baby.
I love the old standby baby pastels, I really like the varigated pastels. However if the mom to be prefers something out of the ordinary and up to date I will do my best to make something to please her.
I am working on a project with Softee Baby ‘Soft Red’ and LOVE it. Also have a bunch of ‘Garden Ombre’ that I can’t wait to do something with~ Love the yarns!
I like knitting sweaters and sweater sets in pink. This could be because I have a daughter and tend to look at little girl outfits.
I love using mint green with almost any other color for baby things. It is gender neutral and you can mix it with brights for a more dramatic look, possibly for clothing, or other pastels for a softer look, for blankets and other warm and fuzzy things!
love using softee baby for hats – love all the colors
While I don’t mind the pastels, it is nice to have the brighter options for every baby’s room design.
i like using bright colors. i have one new grand daughter and will have 2 more grand babies by the end of this year, making 11 total grandchildren. So I have been a busy Grandma. 2 girls and 1 boy.At least i know which.
I like using brighter bolder colors – like deep pinks and dark blues, along with browns, tans and soft greens.
I tend to go for the pastels, something soft and flower petal-like.
Bernat baby yarns are really soft with a wide variety of colors. I prefer bright colors for blankets, sweaters and hats.
I like the pastels but bright colors can be amazing. I’m a sucker for variegated yarns for little ones!
Deffinitley bright colors! I think pastels are too washed-out looking and almost outdated even for baby stuff. I like to make baby blanket and sweaters from bold beutiful colors. They look so cute and modern (and hide stains very well
I wish Bernat was making more colors available in their baby yarn…
Use double strands of the featured yarns and you have a lush
Winter-weight baby blanket. Absolutely beautiful results.
I love mixing varigated with a matching solid. Depending on if the baby is a boy or a girl is what color choices I make.
I like using non-traditional colors for baby items. Love it when parents pick something other than pale pink or blue.
I love the soft neutrals for baby outfits. I’m new to Bernat, but not to knitting so really love looking at the patterns & wool options
I like to work in yellows and greens so that I can make baby items ahead of time before the baby’s gender has been determined.
I like the green shades if I do not know the sex or sometimes I will use the soft yellows.
I like pale colors for baby clothes. Bright and colorful for baby toys
Can’t go wrong with pastel yellow and green.:)
I love using bright colours especially for the hats that I make. So much fun!
I love the self patterning and Jacquard yarns and ombres, they’re my favorites for sure.
I love mixing soft colors, because it gives character and offers variety. Sometimes I surprise myself with the completed projects. I love your yarns because of the texture for all babettes and new mommies.
I love making baby items in all colors. When making them, I usually ask the mother what her favorites are and use those. It makes the items more personalized. The brights are my personal favorites with contrasts. Experimenting is fun and expressive.
I love pink and gray together!
I really love to knit any baby item with a blue or purple yarn. There are so many beautiful multi-colored yarns out there to use, also.
I love pastels for babies, including baby blue, baby pink, lavender, baby green and yellow!
I love all the colors, specially brights and ombres. Hope to see some day a few darker colors.
I love bright colors on my 3 month old daughter – Bright yellowss, greens, oranges, pinks and purples – they make her look so amazingly cute ( is actually an effortless thing for her!).!
I try to match personality with colors. I tend to use bright colors though because up here in Montana, a lot of friends have their babies in the winter time, and the bright colors are fun to see popping against the white and grey of the weather.
I really like your Color Me sweater – I like pinks, blues and sometimes a bit of yellow for a highlight.
I love the bright colors for baby toys
I like all colors. I usually go with something other than pink or blue. . . like yellows, greens, lavander, tans, etc. I like the Baby Soft Yarn because it is so soft against the baby’s skin (and mine too!)
Right now I’m knitting a baby dress in a red bamboo yarn and pairing it with a multi-hued bright yarn in the color ‘paint box’, so I guess I’m warming up to using some brights.
I love them all, pastels and brights! It really depends on what speaks to me at the moment. I’ve also noticed that my color/tone choices are often influenced by the time of year.
My favorite colors for baby items are pastels but a soft pale yellow and the light aqua color is my favorite, because babies look wonderful in those colors. I like pink and blue, but they are so over-done, especially when an expectant mom knows the sex of the baby ahead of time. I love colors that are slightly heathered with white also, it softens them and gives them a lighter tone. (c; Once kids are toddlers though, give them circus colors and vivid contrasting brights. I don’t like black in children’s clothing and rarely choose it for any crocheted or knitted project.
I really like using soft pinks and greens
I prefer peach and lemon colors, but sky blue is a great hue for baby gear as well!
Thank you very much for giving us this contest.
Love bright happy colours!
I like the variegated yarns the best, so much of the baby yarn has a lot of pink in it. I too would love to see more darker colors for the boys. I have 5 grandsons with another grandson due in december and it is so hard to find different colors to use for their blankets, mittens, hat’s, ect. I would love to see a baby softee in a camo color, green for boys and pink for girls, how cute would that be.
I have done brights and pastels. I just finished one for my niece that was pink, dark rose, and heather grey. I am making a lavendar and mint green one for my baby right now. I did one that was jungle colors for one of my nephews. I will also do white or something green and yellow if I don’t know the gender of the baby.
I love Softee Baby yarn. It is my favorite yarn to use. It is soooo soft and easy to knit or crochet with.
I love using bright colors. Not so much the traditional ones. Lime, purple, turquoise.
I am really into Bright colors like bright pinks, oranges, and yellows right now for baby blankets, beanies and booties. They look so adorable espcially together!
I like to use bright yellows, pinks and blues
I tend to look at the nursery plans for clues when making blankets. For clothing I like to mix it up. Earthy colors are my favorites but when it comes to dressing Baby what Mommy likes is most important.
I try to find out what colors the parents are using for the baby’s room before I start a blankie. I personally love bright colors
Blues, greens, purples, pinks rule!!
Bernat yarns always gives me a great finish and look for a baby/ toddler project.
For baby boys, i like using white, brown, powder blue, yellow and green;
for baby girls, i like using white, pink, purple, orange .
I love the pastel green especially if you don’t know if it’s going to be a boy or a girl. I tend to use brighter colours for bibs but I’m warming up to more creative ways of using “bigger” colours
Like knitting baby socks! So cute!
Show me color! I’m going to try bernat pattern: Cotton Candy Baby Tunic ~ cute as can be!
I’ve done it all! This next one is going to be rainbow colors and white!
I love all the Bernat baby yarns. They are easy to work with and its washable. My favorite colors for baby are pastels, multi colors and mints.
I love to use pink, purple, and white lately for little girls. I had been using orange, yellow, and pink before.
White for the first newborn gift….then as many colors as I can knit up! I love working on baby things all the time…someone is bound to have a little one to “gift”….I’m working on some sweet things for my newest great great niece now! In Bernat, of course!
I like working with medium to bold/bright colors. I prefer color schemes that are not traditional ‘baby looking’ — I like to think that my work will be enjoyed by the little person beyond their baby-time especially the amigurumi stuffed toys. Let’s be honest, the pastel colors are great, but they do show much faster the dirty marks that will come from lots of enjoyment from little hands.
Pink… Pink… Pink! Anything that has pink in it! I have 5 girls & they all have their favorite colors… I try to mesh their favorite color wit mine, so that I am bonding them to me & So in a way we are always together
I love purples and blues and pinks..
I prefer brights, especially red.
I adore the projects in the pamphlet! I really like blues, greens, oranges, corals, yellows…. I guess there really isn’t any color I wouldn’t like!
I have always love the soft hues of pink, blues and purples. but lately I have loved the bright neon colors that I have seen.
i really like the grey marled and soft lilac
my one year old looks good in those!
“A truly creative person rids him or herself of all self-imposed limitations.” – Gerald G. Jampolsky
I have fallen in love with peach.
I love using all the colors of the rainbows! They are soft yet bright and perfect for baby blankets! (and hats!)
I love bright, non-traditional colors for baby items. I stay away from the pastels. Yellow and green are happy, non gender specific favorites.
Usually go with pastel colors, but would love to try brighter colors.
I usually use a cream or a light green or Yellow. I like keeping it neutral.
I like to use lilac and pink for girls and some of the multi’s for the boys, just to give some variety to the boys blankets and sweaters. I just love Bernat baby yarn! I like to make baby things and this is the softest yarn I have found. I tried others when I first started crocheting, but once I found Bernat I never looked back. I always use Bernat yarn for everything.
Last year, I used this yarn to make a round “pin wheel” baby blanket using Tangerine & Punch Fun. I love to use bright colors for babies, and washable is a must.
I love to use cream, pink and a taupe(y), milk chocolate(y) color for my granddaughter. Then I just change the pink to baby blue or a darker royal blue for my grandson. They are 13 months apart and still little bitty so these colors work for them.
I like to use bright colors and neutrals at the same time.
For babies I like to use a verigated so it can be for anyone. They are also more bright and colourful.
I knit alot of blankets for Project Linus and love finding a new pattern to try.
I love all colors but currently am using brown, bright pink and a muted pink to make a baby blanket for my grand daughter when she is born in November. I just finished a white baby bonnet and am working on some booties to go with it as well. I just love to crochet a lot and have so many things started and so many more things I’m wanting to start. I love learning new stitches and seeing new ideas.
I love using bold, but not too bright colors for baby afghans.
Soft color. I just finish 1 jacket (Pom pom cardigan – free pattern from your website). Beautiful
I like bright colors, purples, orange, bright pinks, etc. with an offset with white.
Yarn excites me because the possibilities are endless!! LoL. But right now; I’m loving the bright aquas and bright greens
Coral & teal – they’re different!
I prefer bright colors because it just brighten my mood it has to do the same for a baby!!!
I’m especially fond of the variegated pastel shades blended in with traditional baby colors (mint green, yellow, blue, pink)
