Community Update

How many ways can you keep up with the latest Bernat happenings? Here’s a few you may not already know about:

Bernat Yarns can be followed on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Ravelry, and in some of your favorite knitting magazines!  If that’s not enough for you, check out the Bernat Forum, where dedicated Bernat Yarn fans talk every day about their projects, help each other with their knitting and crochet questions, and enjoy crafting together with fun knit-alongs and crochet-alongs.

If you want to see How-To Videos for Bernat projects, check out the Bernat YouTube Channel!

Bernat also has a heart for charity, and stands behind this by offering patterns, encouragement, and charity news through the BernatCares website.  You can see Bernat’s latest charity drives mentioned on the BernatCares Facebook or Twitter pages.

Right now, Bernat is sponsoring Vickie Howell’s Purple Stitch Project,  to benefit babies, children and teens with epilepsy.  Knitters and crocheters are asked to make purple gifts for kids with seizure disorders.

Don’t have the purple yarn you need to make your project?  You can buy it in the Bernat Shop, where you’ll also find books, needles & hooks, and all kinds of knit/crochet accessories!

If you prefer keeping your projects close to home, you’ll find some great patterns and ideas on the Bernat website.

Since the weather is quite warm right now in the northern hemisphere, you might enjoy trying the new Bernat Handicrafter Crochet Thread, which comes in 21 solids, and 10 colorful ombres.   This is a super-fine yarn, which can be crocheted or knitted to make beautiful lacy creations.  You’ll find several lovely designs in the Summer Days pattern book.  There are also some FREE Patterns!

Whether you choose to craft for fun, create a family heirloom, or are just getting started with knitting or crochet, you’ll find all you need right here.  And remember that you’re never alone with your project – help is always available by sending an email to inquire@bernat.com.  We want your project to be a success!

About shandeh

I started knitting in 2003, and it is now a major part of my life. In 2010, I learned how to crochet better as well, in the Bernat Mystery Blanket CAL. Now, I am confident with both crafts!

help needed for the sideways knit poncho

I was wondering if you could explain
1st row: (RS). Knit to last 4 (5-5) sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
    2nd row knit

I under stand that, but what I am confused on is : rep last 2 rows twice more . 34(34-38)

so when I knit the first 2 row am I only ever leaving 5 on the needle or do I leave 5 extra each row for a total of 15 unstitched ? for the size I am making
    Please advise
