Cool Cables for a Cold Day

I’ve finished my latest project in record speed – just in time to enjoy during a cold weather snap! I knitted the Cool Cables hat in just a couple of evenings and even seamed it up in time to wear for an evening trip to the grocery store! What’s more, it was a one-skein project!

I used Bernat Roving instead of Bernat Softee Chunky, which was a little tricky. The fluffiness of the lightly spun yarn made picking up and knitting the cables somewhat difficult, but I love the end result! So did my daughter — I think I will have to knit up another, slightly smaller one for her to wear, too.

I like the cabled hat. Looks like a good uni-sex pattern to make for give-away knitting. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Thank you for sharing this pattern. I saw it, had several balls of this yarn, each in a different color and no inspiration for them. Then I saw your hat, tried it, loved it and made several. They work up so quickly that I finished two in one evening!
