Yippee!!  Just finished making everything for my kitchen.  Using Bernat Mosaic and Bernat Handicrafter Cotton yarns, I now have a pretty tea cosy, a doily to place under my hot teapot, a thick hand towel, and 4 nice dishcloths!  :)

Here’s another view, so you can see it all laid out:

It took about a month to make everything, and it was completely worth it!  Here are the details on each item:

Tea Cosy

Yarn: Bernat Mosaic in the color “Psychedelic”
Knitting Pattern: Tea Cosy (free pattern by Bernat)

Doily

Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in the color “Mod Blue”
Knitting Pattern: Doily Dishcloth (free pattern by Bernat)

Hand Towel

Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in the colors “Mod Blue” and “Mod Twists”
Knitting Pattern: Started and ended using “Feather & Fan Dishcloth” pattern, then designed the rest myself

Corner to Corner Dishcloths

Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in the colors “Mod Twists” and “In Motion Twists”
Knitting Pattern: “Corner to Corner Striped Set” in Bernat’s “Kitchen Kolors” pattern book

Mosaic Dishcloth

Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in the colors “Tangerine” and “Mod Blue”
Knitting Pattern: “Mosaic Flower Dishcloth” in Bernat’s “Kitchen Kolors” pattern book

Mitered Dishcloth

Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in “Tangerine”
Crochet Pattern: “Mitered Dishcloth” in Bernat’s “Kitchen Kolors” pattern book

The last dishcloth was crocheted.  I wanted to try learning the mitered technique, since I had never done that with crochet before.  It was SO EASY!  I’m glad I decided to learn it.  It’s nice to finally get a bit of confidence with my crochet skills.  I’m very secure in my knowledge of knitting, but it’s always good to learn new things!

Now that my set is complete, I don’t feel so bad about my old 1970′s kitchen.  At least I have some colorful cloths to use while I’m in there.  They put a nice smile on my face. :)

About shandeh

I started knitting in 2003, and it is now a major part of my life. In 2010, I learned how to crochet better as well, in the Bernat Mystery Blanket CAL. Now, I am confident with both crafts!
