Project – Girl’s Cardigan
Bernat Pattern Book #530195 Mini Me
Yarn – Bernat Baby Cakes in Pool Party

I’m genuinely pleased with my resizing of the Girl’s Cardigan:

The sweater has lovely flow and drape and looks adorable!  Last week, I’d mentioned how I changed the lace at the top slightly.  After I seamed the whole cardigan together, the neck shaping was quite a bit too wide, so I crocheted several rows of single crochet around the neckline until the shoulder of the sweater sat sturdily on my daughter’s shoulders.  The effect was a little stand-up type collar – which she thought was true high fashion!

I do plan to add the patch pockets using the same lace pattern as in the original garment – though it seems I’m forever looking for excuses to not add buttons OR pockets.   Those true colors of my inner procrastinator shine again!

Now that the cardigan is done, my daughter kept eyeing the Mini Me pattern book and wondered when the hat was going to be finished.  I suppose I know what I’m working on next …  though I’m going to attempt to stand strong and NOT do the doll also.  Maybe for the holidays…

Hi Connie – The pattern is the one on the front cover of Mini Me. Follow along with my posts to see where I made the adjustments & changes, find the stitch pattern you like or keep with the pattern one, and you should be set!
