In these long, hot summer days there isn’t much a person can do besides sit inside in the air conditioning and pray for a cold front. With the latest heat wave making its way through central Texas, that’s exactly what I have been doing. Thankfully, I have had this amazing project to work on to keep me happily knitting away.
The colors remind me of walks on the beach at sunset, which is incidentally where I plan to wear this beautiful shawl once it is completed. Until it cools off enough to go outside, I plan to sit and daydream while knitting in my favorite chair, a cold glass of soda by my side.

This is one of the most enjoyable patterns I have ever knit up. The pattern itself is easy to learn and memorize, making it perfect for working on anytime. It is also incredibly beautiful to look at. I will definitely be making more of these using Mosaic yarn. I love how the pattern mimics the look of the waves crashing one by one on the shoreline! This is the perfect summer knitting project!

Oooooo….Pretty!
I was looking for a summer knitting project and was so inspired by your beautiful project that I immediately went to the yarn website and ordered the yarn. When you said it reminded you of the waves crashing against each other, I smelled the salt water! Thanks for the inspiration!
Lovely colors – and no ends to sew up!
Thank you! I can’t seem to put this one down. It is such an enjoyable project!

help..I am a beginner knitter, am working on this pattern and I am having problems with the pattern row 3.!!!!! I am using 14inch needle size 5mm.
I know I am not understand the row 3 instructions because on my 6 rows of knitting, I have reached the end of my knitting needle with a total of 252 stitches!!!!! and the instructions indicated to cast on 76 stitiches. I may not be understanding the (yo,K1) 6 times. what am I doing wrong? I should be maintaining 76 stitches throughout the shawl , right?
Mary.. I’m having the EXACT same problem!
The only thing I can think of is that we should be slipping the yo stitch off in the next row instead of knitting it?
I got it!!! I got it!!! And it looks just like this and SO pretty!
