The monster lives! Muah-ha-ha!
Okay, the monster vest isn’t alive, but it sure is darn cute. My nephew is gonna look super cute in this! I can’t embroider to save my life, but thankfully the facial details were fairly basic. And it would be easy enough to modify, if one so desired. I didn’t change the face ‘cuz I just love the serious expression–it’s so serious, it looks fun and silly.
Besides the monster face, I also like the vest’s little whimsical details: the armhole ribbing is in a different colour than the main body; and the neckband is in yet another colour. Yet all the colours relate back to the block of vertical striping.
And yes, all those lovely colours meant there were many, many ends to weave in . . . but its a small price to pay for a life of colourful whimsy.
Since I enjoyed using the Baby Cakes, I may have to use it again. With so many wonderful projects in the Baby Cakes booklet, I’m gonna have a hard time choosing.
