I have been busy working on Motif E for Abbi’s sensory blanket. There is no question that I have been really enjoying this latest stitch pattern. I will need 11 of these before this motif is completed. They work up very quickly and feel wonderful to the skin when completed, which is the whole point in my choice for this particular pattern!
While the stitch pattern (alternating single and double crochet) gives a nice texture, it is also something that I can easily do without having to worry about concentrating too much if there is a lot going on around me. It is also helpful being so easy to stop anywhere in the motif in case I need to get up and do something in the middle of a square, as those of us who are parents routinely do! I have to say that I have found every stitch in this pattern to be something that was easy to learn. I would definitely recommend it.
There are only 2 more motifs to go and I will be ready to piece everything together and present Abbi with her sensory blanket! She has been doing fairly well as of late, and has been thoroughly enjoying the last project I completed. She absolutely loves the prayer shawl I made using Bernat Bamboo Natural Blends. She wraps herself up with it when she isn’t feeling particularly well and it always seems to offer her comfort. The weight and silky feel of the bamboo feel really good to her, and a part of me wants to believe that she can truly feel the love that went into every stitch.
