We’ve been having more than our share of hot summer days in the Midwest, which means my knitting days are limited. Who wants to sit down with heavy, bulky yarn and stitch away when the temperatures and humidity are so high? Not me – until I got my hands on the Baby Cakes yarn I planned to use for the Cozy Cable Blanket: an icy cool shade of blue called Bonnet Blue.
Not only is the color refreshing, but the yarn itself is wonderful to work with. A 50-50 blend of cotton and acrylic, it’s soft and glides over my needles quickly and smoothly. Now if only the cable blanket would knit itself while I go enjoy a frosty glass of lemonade!
