Hanukkah in June, Next up Christmas in July

Project – Chevron Scarf
Bernat Pattern Book #530196 Show Your Stripes
Yarn – Bernat Jacquards in Jade Jacquard
Blogger – JenWKnits

This scarf started as a project for my daughter’s teacher but, as I was knitting, I realized that this just isn’t her style. Yet, it is lovely and needs a special recipient.  Luckily, I’ve had no trouble deciding who this scarf is meant for – it is destined for my sister!  So, I am putting it in my gift closet and saving it to give her for Hanukkah.

My earliest holiday knitted gift EVER!  Which brings me to my next great idea.

I am committed to not being a crazy knitting person in the time between Halloween and Christmas 2010. Instead, I will be knitting one project a month from June to December to add to the holiday gift giving stash.

What do you think of the first one?

I love it!  It is a little shorter than the pattern called for, for two reasons: (1) my sister is on the shorter side; and (2) I really wanted the ends to be the same colors.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the results!  I hope July’s project comes out as well!

That scarf is gorgeous. I’m going to see if my local store has that kind of Bernat yarn. Perfect for scarf / hat combo.

    Hey,
A I think I would need to pick different colors otherwise it is pretty nice.
Though I would not wear the hat with it!

I love that you changed the recipient and occasion – hilarious and totally something I would do too.

The scarf looks very pretty and I’m betting your sister will LOVE it.
