Our prayer shawl is finished. It was such a healing experience to let go of my worries and heartache, and instead try to focus on hope and joy as I crocheted this shawl. When I wear it, it feels like a hug, and serves as a reminder that hope is a part of our lives every day. This is especially important to us as we care for Abbi and her chronic Epilepsy, and Autism.
The pattern itself was incredibly easy to work, which made it a great project for a prayer shawl. I was able to memorize it easily which made it a breeze to focus my intentions and emotions while crocheting.
It is big enough to wrap around Abbi and myself, both, which is exactly what I wanted it for. I am really glad that I decided to crochet this pattern using a heavier weight yarn and a larger hook (I wound up using a M). It is perfect at this size. She loves snuggling under it with me, which gives us some wonderful happy time together.
Abbi especially enjoys the silky texture of the bamboo! This yarn was such a joy to work with. It has a beautiful silky feel, and a wonderful drape and weight. It has a shimmer to it that makes you feel luxurious. I cannot wait to work with this yarn again!
I am more than happy with this project, and the process of it from start to finish. Of course, it is thanks to Bernat that I was able to use such a lovely yarn and a versatile, beautiful pattern. I have another project already in the works if you can believe it! I just couldn’t wait to get started, and I’m very excited to share it with you!
