Okay…I’m starting to get into this craft a little more.  Crochet isn’t bad at all.  The only real problem I’m having is some soreness in my wrists and hands.  Cotton has no stretch at all when you work with it, so it’s a little hard on my hands.  But, I’m just making myself take breaks a little more often than I do with other yarns.

I’ve watched some videos and read some websites about how we should be careful to avoid muscle cramps and body aches when doing our crafting.  So, occasionally I will put down my project and have a really……nice…..

S    T    R    E    T    C    H     ………   Ah – THAT’S better! :)

I will also do some hand stretches and arm stretches and shoulder shrugs.  Every once in a while, I will get up and take a walk to get my blood flowing.  And on the way back to my craft room, I’ll make a cup of hot tea and maybe grab a little snack. ;)

All that stretching gives me the energy and peace to get back to crafting.  And my hands are happier because of it.

Now, for the REAL reason I’m talking your ear off.  Here’s a look at my two lovely crochet washcloths!

I like how they look.  I’m thinking I might add a pretty crochet border to dress them up a little.  I DO know how to do that, from some of my knitting projects in the past.  Maybe I’ll use the peach yarn to do a border on the blue cloth, and the blue yarn to edge the peach cloth.  That might look nice!  It can’t hurt to try, because crochet is SO EASY to unravel!

Oh!  And look how nice they look beside my shower curtain.  Perfect!

As soon as I finished the two crochet washcloths, I got started on the next part of my bathroom set.   I picked up my Bernat Spa pattern book, and looked for the pattern for the Tissue Box Cover.  I’m making the smaller, square cover, because that’s the only size tissue box I can fit in my little bathroom.  This project uses half-double crochet, so now I’m working on another stitch for my crochet repertoire.  Yes!

It sure will be nice to have a pretty set for my bathroom.

What a great set! You’re moving right along, and your stitches look nice and even! That’s really hard to accomplish when you first begin crocheting (ask me and my trapezoid of an afghan!)

    Thanks Kristin!
