I have been really enjoying the pictures of the completed projects — I like the different color combinations that people hvae chosen. Amazing what that does to the completed project isn’t it? I hope that you still have some that you haven’t shown becuase i have been looking for mine since the first ones were posted and haven’t spotted it yet :) It indeed was a fun project!

I notice everyone has added a pretty border to their afghan. How do you do that–most especially, how do you go around the corners?

    • Donna Lynne says:

Hi, Pauline. Being new to knitting, I, too, wondered how we would go around the corners. The answer is that we don’t go around the corners! We knit straight across the top, then the bottom; then we knit straight across one side at a time INCLUDING the top and bottom borders!

    • Connie says:

I double crocheted a border around mine because I like the look of crocheted borders and because I could do nice corners. On the corners, I did 2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc in the corner stitch (corner space on following border rows). I crocheted a couple of rows with one color then three more rows with another color, both colors from the knitted blocks to tie it all together. It turned out great and I really like how this project turned out. Thanks for a fun project.

It has been fun knitting with everyone. They all look great. My cats love the blanket too! Very warm. My niece would like the shades of pink one. Perhaps some inspiration for the next project.

  4. Jeanne says:

I am still trying to finish my squares….between family emergencies and everyone else’s projects, mine have taken a back seat…everyone’s blankets look wonderful though
