My Cape Has a Great Start!

I’ve been enjoying working with Bernat Softee Chunky yarn. I have tried this yarn before for a smaller project, and didn’t enjoy it as much. I think the knitting needles were too small for the yarn that time, so it was causing some pain for my hands. But this time, the needles are the right size for the yarn, so I’m having no trouble at all. It feels cushy and comfy with every stitch.

Here is a photo of my knitting so far, after using one skein of Bernat Softee Chunky.

I’m supposed to knit this section until it’s 26 1/2 inches long. So far, after one skein, I’ve knit about 9 inches, so things are looking good. I’ll probably use about 4 skeins for the back, 4 for the front, and a couple skeins for the hood. I should have enough yarn for the project! :)

The color is beautiful, and should work well with my wardrobe. Green is one of my favorite colors. I’m just hoping I can finish it up quickly. I want to wear it in about a month. I’m planning a trip to the mountains, and my cape will be the perfect wardrobe accessory for the trip. Can’t wait!

About shandeh

I started knitting in 2003, and it is now a major part of my life. In 2010, I learned how to crochet better as well, in the Bernat Mystery Blanket CAL. Now, I am confident with both crafts!
